“I paint my own reality. The only thing I know is that I paint because I need to, and I paint whatever passes through my head without any other consideration.” Frida Kahlo

While I was visiting New York, I was extremely excited to see the art world here! I’m a huge modern art fan and had heard a lot about the MOMA. After visiting the museum I was surprised to see so many big artists at the museum such as Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, and one of my all time favorite artists Frida Kahlo!
I finally saw one of my favorite artists Frida! I’m a huge Frida fan and hadn’t yet seen any of her work. I loved that the mirror that was used create the painting was displayed alongside it. Frida has so many famous self portraits and it was incredible to see what she used to view herself in. Giving a self-portrait to friends was common for Frida. She used the mirror that was attached to her bed after her accident to create many pieces of art.
I’m a HUGE pop art fan, and grew up loving the colors and repetition that Andy Warhol creates. It was a a real treat to see the 32 Soup Cans that were displayed!
The MOMA was filled with many more amazing great artists. This museum is defiantly a great place to spend the day!
